With local breweries enjoying a revival, a group of home-brew experts have formed the Kings County Brewers Collective and announced plans to open at 381 Troutman Street in Bushwick.
M Properties Group brokered the lease on behlf of the landlord while DY Realty represented KCBC long-term lease of 5,000 s/f/
Bushwick’s long, rich brewing history dates back to the pre-prohibition era when the neighborhood was densely populated with breweries.
KCBC is a brewers’ collective that produces different brands of beer created by different brewers from the collective. The space on Troutman Street will function as the collective’s new brewing base of operations with a taproom offering pints and growler refills to thirsty patrons.
Troutman Street is where the Bushwick Collective began its outdoor art gallery, and the intersection of Troutman Street and Wyckoff Avenue is commonly known to the locals and travelers as a central meeting point in Bushwick.
This transaction marks the first brewery to secure a major retail-centric presence in Bushwick since the last brewery was closed in 1976.
